Chronic Pain

"I highly recommend acupuncture to anyone with chronic pain. I was involved in 3 auto accidents within 5 years and suffered tremendous pain from whiplash injuries. I received muscle relaxers and strong painkillers, but was unable to continue taking them during the day, as they interfered with my ability to think clearly on the job. Prior to acupuncture, I endured 3 years of weekly chiropractic treatments, physical therapy and lived on Motrin IB’s to deal with the nonstop pain. I was worn out and becoming depressed from pain induced sleep deprivation and the inability to live a normal active life. Jyun Shimzu told me that acupuncture would provide relief from my pain and suffering. I was pretty skeptical how inserting a bunch of needles into my pain-wracked body would help me feel better. But I was desperate and decided I had nothing to lose by trying it. At the end of the fourth weekly treatment, I noticed I did feel some relief and slept a bit better. From that point on with each treatment I felt some improvement. Within months I actually had some pain free days. I continued the weekly treatments until I was completely pain free. The acupuncture treatments I received from Jyun Shimzu literally saved my life. Now, several years later, I am still enjoying an active life and only occasionally experience a relapse of whiplash pain. Wrist pain

"I am a 57-year old female who has worked 35 years in the medical profession, most recently as a labor and delivery nurse. My duties require physical activity, especially the use of my hands and arms. About three years ago, I fell at work. This resulted in a severe injury to my left wrist. I went through the entire process of western medical treatment including physical therapy, splints, and pain pills, then had surgery, which appeared to “fix” the problem for abut six months, After six months, I returned to work and the left wrist pain returned so I went back to physical therapy with no relief while working. Also, I was given pain pills. I could not, or would not, take pain pills during my working hours. The pain in my left wrist began to get worse and I began to have left elbow, arm, and shoulder pain so severe that I began to think I would have to change my profession. I become depressed and could not see a path out of this dark place.
Then I remembered the wisdom of my Grandpa’s life teaching about natural medicine, the benefits of the ancients, and the needles (my grandpa was Japanese, Grandma was Swedish). So I thought “OK, this is it. I’m going to try acupuncture and see if it works!” I went for evaluation by Dr. Jyun and had my first treatment. I went home and thought “I don’t feel any different.” But I continued to go through the weekly treatment program to see what would happen. Within three weeks, my wrist was almost pain free. At present, I am completely pain free and have increased strength in my left wrist. The other pain in my neck and elbow is gone because I am more relaxed and don’t tense those muscles any longer.
Also, Dr. Jyun and Dr. Kim have counseled me about my diet and about medicinal herbs and have assisted me out of that dark place. I now have hope for a better future."

Herniated Disc

Having been in the medical field for so long as a pharmaceutical representative, I was quite skeptical of eastern medicine. When I herniated a disc (C 5/6), five years ago, the pain I have had to endure has been debilitating. With two small children, your world cannot be put on hold till you heal. The painful steroid injections and side effects that go along with them were no longer an option. The amount of painkillers, muscle relaxants and anti inflammatory meds were over whelming, yet never touched the “nerve pain.” They only made me foggy headed and spacey. I still had to deal with the nagging pain that radiated from my neck down my arm. I was at wits end. Someone suggested Acupuncture. At this point I would have done Anything. (and again, being from a medical background I was skeptical, but willing to try.) After 1 month of treatment 2x a week, my neck pain was GONE. No surgery. No drugs. As the sessions I felt so relaxed and calm. It is not a miracle that this has worked, it is over a thousand years of practiced treatment. I now believe when you open your mind to alternative methods, drugs and surgery are no longer the ONLY option. Acupuncture worked for me and at Acupuncture Associates they truly care in healing your entire being.

Allergies

Thanks to Dr. Shimizu my allergies are completely gone! I had serious allergies for years that were debilitating, including itchy watery eyes, hives, and muscle aches and pain. After a few treatments my symptoms were gone and my energy level was back to normal.
